In the Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011 Update volume window, double-click the Lync for Mac 2011 Update application to start the update process, and then follow the instructions on the screen. If the installation finishes successfully, you can remove the update installer from your hard disk. Download the Skype plugin. Web plug-in available on Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers on PC, Mac and Surface devices.

- Lync Web App allows for the sharing of a desktop (not on a Mac), an application (not on a Mac), a whiteboard and a poll. Note: Lync Web App Plug‐in is not supported on 64‐bit browsers, or on 32‐bit Safari browsers except for Macintosh OS 10.4.8 or later (Intel‐based).
- After that a new window opens with the title 'Microsoft Lync Web App' in which I can choose a username and tick two boxes, the first one is 'remember me' and the second 'Install plugin-software Lync Web App' (which I thought I just did, but I will tick it just in case there is a second install I need to allow).
