Before you start to deploy configuration manager client agent for Mac, I would suggest you to take a look at step by step guide for deploying PKI with SCCM. Client installation and management for Mac computers in System Center 2012 R2 Configuration. On the Windows computer, run the ConfigmgrMacClient.msi file that you just downloaded to extract the Mac client package, Macclient.dmg to a folder on the local disk (by default C: Program Files (x86) Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Mac Client ).

Based on that, I'm not certain you can remotely manage this Mac's endpoint protection with SCOM. Curious to hear from others who may know more.

What I do know is that our Avast for Business client supports Macs and you can manage it remotely, schedule and push scans, see threat interceptions, etc. :) Shameless, I know, I know, but it very well might be a good solution for you in this case, especially if you have other Mac workstations/servers or plan to add more and need something to watch them all.
